Can you overdose on CBD?
According to a report on medical marijuana published by Harvard Medical School in 2018, it is impossible to overdose on marijuana.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a component of either marijuana or hemp.
“Patients do, however, report many benefits of CBD, from relieving insomnia, anxiety, spasticity, and pain to treating potentially life-threatening conditions such as epilepsy,” the report states.
Hemp-based CBD does not even have any intoxicating properties, as opposed to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), its cousin cannabinoid found in marijuana, which causes a “high.”
According to the National Cancer Institute:
“Because cannabinoid receptors, unlike opioid receptors, are not located in the brainstem areas controlling respiration, lethal overdoses from Cannabis and cannabinoids do not occur.”
So, the answer is no… It is impossible to overdose on CBD alone.
